Los contenidos a trabajar serán los siguientes:

·                     Rocks:

• Types of rocks (igneous, sedimentary…) and examples (basalt, marble, limestone…)
• The rock cycle process: the process from igneous to metamorphic rock.

 

·                     Comparing Rocks and Minerals:

(Minerals have crystals, a unique chemical composition…)

(Rocks is a combination of minerals, there are three types of rocks, can have fossils...)

·                     Minerals:

• Groups and examples
• Properties:  color, hardness and lustre
• Mohs Hardness Scale: Comparing some minerals hardness.

·                     Uses of rocks and minerals:

Example: Marble is used for floors, statues or kitchen counter tops; Sand is used for making glass; Limestone is used for making cement: Fluorite is used for making toothpaste...)

·                     Land erosion: 

• Natural causes and human interference.
